Leica announces Rangemaster CRF 1000 rangefinder:
high performance laser technology at an entry-level price

04/01/2011

Leica Camera AG has announced the Leica Rangemaster CRF 1000 laser rangefinder, successor to the Rangemaster CRF 800, offering high-end optical performance and ergonomics, and exceptional value for money at just £495 including VAT.

The CRF 1000 rangefinder features the same improved LED as Leica’s top-of-the-range model, the CRF 1600, ensuring the distance displayed on the rangefinder is extremely clear to read. The new LED demonstrates particular benefits in unfavourable light and adverse viewing conditions (for example, in strong sunlight combined with snow). The read-out appears sharper and brighter and, in turn, shows much better contrast.

Furthermore, the Rangemaster CRF 1000’s high quality optical system is protected by Leica’s innovative AquaDuraTM coating. This hydrophobic protective coating ensures that water simply runs off the lens, and makes it particularly easy to clean. In addition, the body is coated with a hard-wearing, rubberised paint that offers a particularly good grip. Its outstanding 7x24 mm precision optical system with integrated dioptre compensation makes the waterproof Rangemaster CRF 1000 unique in its class. The rangefinder also features the same metre or yard display option as Leica’s premium CRF 1600 model, and offers a maximum measuring range of 1000 yards (915 metres).

Pricing and availability
The Leica Rangemaster CRF 1000 will be available in the UK from February 2011 from authorised Leica dealers including the Leica Store Mayfair: www.leica-storemayfair.co.uk, tel: 020 7629 1351. A full list of authorised UK Leica dealers is available at www.leica-camera.co.uk. The suggested retail price is £495 including VAT at 20%.
