Birdfair 2011

Every year, birders and natures lovers from all over the world come to visit the Birdfair in Rutland Water, and 2011 will be no exception. As a long-term exhibitor and sponsor of the event, Leica will be located at the end of the Optics Marquee overlooking the lake, showcasing its entire range of Ultravid binoculars, monoculars, Apo-Televid spotting scopes and digital cameras, as well as its award-winning digiscoping equipment.

This year, the Birdfair takes place from 19-21 August. More details about the show and details on how to register are available at: http://www.birdfair.org.uk/

Known worldwide for its outstanding optics, Leica is the only company to offer a complete, premium digiscoping solution from one brand. The combination of Leica’s powerful Apo-Televid spotting scopes with its easy-to-use tripods and heads, and high quality compact digital cameras with special adaptors, means you’re guaranteed an exceptional digiscoping experience with stunning photographic results, even in the most challenging conditions.

New digiscoping adaptors are now available for the Leica X1 and D-Lux 5, two high performance compact cameras offering outstanding image quality. Leica also offers a universal solution, the Digital Adaptor 3, which enables the use of almost any compact digital camera, including camera phones, with the Apo-Televid scopes.

Also available to try at the show will be two super-zoom cameras ideal for birding. The Leica V-Lux 30 is a pocket-friendly, versatile compact digital camera with 16x zoom, touch-screen operation, 3D mode and GPS tagging, while the Leica V-Lux 2 is a rugged 14 megapixel, high-performance digital camera with 24x zoom, RAW shooting mode, adjustable LCD and HD video.

Leica’s experienced team will be on hand to demonstrate the products, offer advice and answer any questions throughout the show.

Furthermore, there will be expert presentations and appearances from guest speakers on the Leica stand, including TV naturalist Nick Baker, world record holder, Alan Davies, and Leica’s own birding expert from the US, Jeff Bouton.

There will also be an exciting free prize draw to win a superb digiscoping kit consisting of a Leica Apo-Televid 82 with zoom eyepiece, digiscoping adaptor and D-Lux 5 digital camera – worth around £3,700. Entry forms will be available on the Leica stand, and the prize draw will take place at midday on Sunday 21 August. Full terms and conditions for the prize draw will be available at www.leica-camera.co.uk.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Leica stand at Birdfair 2011!
