Our Akademie is a presentation room, with full black-out capability, incorporating the LEICA PRADOVIT D-1200 projection system. It is fitted out with Naim high-end audio equipment to provide users with sound quality to complement the projectors outstanding image quality.
Entry is strictly by invitation / appointment only.
There’s no better way to get started with Leica than by booking yourself onto a course at our Leica training ‘Akademie’. Get the most out of your new Leica purchase with one of our complimentary owner’s demonstrations or ‘test drive’ any of our photographic or optics products.
Bespoke courses are also available in small groups and we can also arrange one-on-one workshops.
Our knowledgeable photographers and in store team can teach you all the basics in face-to-face training sessions and guide you through more advanced projects.

Compact Demonstration
If you have recently purchased a Leica compact, or just need more information, then these “hands on” demonstrations could be ideal for you

A 2 hour opportunity to ask one of our photographic team your questions, handle the camera and if your are new to Leica the chance to evaluate if your potential purchase meets your needs.

M9 welcome
If you are considering investing in a LEICA M9 then this could be an ideal opportunity for you to learn more about this exciting new Leica camera.

M9 Owner Course
- Scope
A practical session with your own LEICA M9, where owners shoot with their own camera / lens / charged battery / SD card.

Bespoke “M-system” Workshop day
Following requests from photographers and the success of the M9 owner sessions we have developed a bespoke one-day M Workshop. It is ideally suitable for LEICA M8 and M9 digital users or aspiring owners, perhaps coming from a film M, or DSLR background.
- Scope
The day is designed to expand your capability and technique. It is a hands-on workshop with one of our professionals where you get out and about, shooting pictures. The relationship is of two photographers, rather than tutor / pupil. Our photographers have multi-disciplinary experience to offer a new way to see, rather than how to look for photos. Our professional is there as a mentor, offering advice, tips and a new technical perspective. Each bespoke workshop itinerary is different and evolves to suit each participant. There is fluidity to the sessions, enabling us to respond to what happens on the day and tailor each workshop accordingly.
In previous workshops we have covered: M camera management, user tips and techniques, shooting to a brief, workflow solutions, working with DNGs, image enhancement and slideshows.
We can also design one- to-one sessions and provide cameras to shoot with on the day. - Price

Apple Workshop
More and more Leica photographers are using an ever increasing array of digital software, from storage to image manipulation, so we are working with Apple to develop special workshops to ensure you can get the most from your photography.

Sport Optics Workshop
Whilst the Leica Store Mayfair enables any nature lover to be able to get “hands-on” with the full range of Leica Sport Optics products we are also developing workshops that can enhance your observation pleasure.
For instance as the only manufacturer who can supply every element in a digiscoping solution - from camera to scope to tripod and everything in between - we are developing a workshop specifically designed to give attendees expert hints and tips on this ever increasingly popular subject.
